Business House Tennis Pre Xmas Round 2013

Starts Tuesday 15th Oct and Thursday 17th Oct

Thank you to those who have already entered, from the August advice, and I will have already acknowledged receipt to you.

There are still a few spots available but not much time left to enter now. There will be no opportunity to enter late, so please respond this week.

The details and entry forms for Business House tennis are on the club website on the Business House page at http://www.otumoetaitennis.co.nz/league.html if you have some workmates, family or friends interested please enter this week as time is running out.

New Tennis Ball machine (Revised)

Hello ,

Otumoetai is happy to announce that a new tennis ball machine has been received, and is now ready for use by our membership (Senior members, age 16+, and Juniors when accompanied by a Senior member or parent who have received the ball machine orientation briefing).
The machine has been tested, and stocked with tennis balls. It can be used on either Astro (Court 5) or Plexicushion (Court 1) surfaces.
Mike Reed has agreed to coordinate use of machine. Before using the machine, a brief familiarisation about operation/features of the machine is necessary. The machine will be stored downstairs in the clubhouse. Please contact Mike (027 454-3038) for orientation on the machine, or Fred Kleve (544-5088) about a slider door key for downstairs.

Tennis Waikato-Bays: Taupo Tennis Club Open Seniors Tournament

 

Taupo Tennis Club Open Seniors Tournament  Taupo  12 - 13  October 2013

Dates: 12 - 13 October 2013 Men's and Women's doubles - Saturday Mixed Doubles - Sunday Prizes: $400 to Men's and Women's winning pair. $200 to Men's and Women's runner up pair. Other great prizes for place getters in mixed doubles, plates and consolations plates. Venue:  Taupo Tennis Club Redoubt Street Taupo Events: Mens/Womens/Mixed Doubles Age Limit All players must be 40+ years old. Entry Fee: $35 regardless of number of events entered. Includes morning and afternoon teas and Saturday lunch. Closing Date: 6 October 2013

Otumoetai Seniors: Summer Season Opening Day

Hello ,

OTC will have its 2013 Summer Season Opening Day on Saturday, 21st September, with activities starting at 1:30 pm.

Saturday Club Day's start time will then continue at 1:30 pm throughout the summer season.

Come on out for some fun tennis, followed by camaraderie in the Clubhouse. Members are requested to bring a plate for afternoon tea.

Midweek tennis Annual meeting reminder

Hello ,

Mid Week Annual Meeting next Tuesday, 10th September at 11am.

Please bring a plate for a shared morning tea.

The midweek sub-committee have suggested and recommended it is time for a new structure to run without a committee, along the lines of others areas of the club. (With a convenor and a small group of people with specific tasks)

This annual meeting will be a chance for members to put their ideas forward and have input.

Otumoetai Seniors: Pre-Xmas Interclub Tennis

Hello ,

Senior Interclub Tennis for the 2013-14 season is expected to start the first Friday night and Saturday in October

Premier Interclub tennis will again be played on Saturday afternoons, with the competition this year being combined Men's/Ladies teams.

Friday Night Interclub will be similar to last year's competition, with Friday Night Men's A Division (singles and doubles), Friday Night Men's Doubles and Friday Night Ladies Doubles.

A sign-up sheet has been placed on the Club Bulletin Board downstairs. All interested players are requested to put your names/contact numbers up by the 10th of September.

Players may identify a proposed team roster, and the Club will attempt to honour such requests as much as practicable.

Final team rosters will be reviewed by a committee of the Club Captain, Junior Committee representatives and prospective team captains to ensure that all players are appropriately placed.

Interested younger Junior members should discuss their participation in these competitions with the Junior Committee if there is any question about their readiness to play at this level.
